A Lifelong Passion for Animal Welfare
Elena's journey toward veterinary physiotherapy began at age three, where she first started riding. She then started to work with horses at a riding charity from the age of seven. She became a certified instructor for disabled and disadvantaged riders, earning "Runner-Up Coach of the Year in the South East" at the age of twelve.
At thirteen, she trained a young Connemara horse named Connor, who became her lifelong companion. Together they competed successfully in affiliated show jumping — fuelling a passion for equine movement that would shape her career.
Elena completed a three-year degree in human physiotherapy at the University of Huddersfield, graduating with first-class honours. She worked within NHS Trusts and later held a lead physiotherapy role in rehabilitation within the private sector.
She then pursued post-graduate Veterinary Physiotherapy at the University of Liverpool, serving as student representative for the ACPAT governing body. She was awarded a distinction in her Master's degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy and is in the process of publishing her research.
