Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-02-27

Elevate Veterinary Physiotherapy (elevatevetphysio@gmail.com) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

Data controller

Elevate Veterinary Physiotherapy, based in Canterbury, Kent, is the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can contact us at elevatevetphysio@gmail.com.

What data we collect

We collect personal data that you provide to us directly, including your name, email address, phone number, and details about your animal when you submit our contact form, purchase a service, or subscribe to our online rehabilitation programme. When you provide veterinary contact details (your vet's name and email), we collect this third-party personal data to facilitate professional communication about your animal's care. We also collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited through cookies and server logs.

How we use your data

We use your personal data to: respond to enquiries and provide our physiotherapy services; process payments through Stripe for online services; send appointment confirmations, filming guidelines, and service-related communications; communicate with your veterinary surgeon regarding referral and treatment (where applicable); improve our website and services. We will never sell your personal data to third parties.

Legal basis for processing

We process your data on the following legal bases: Contract performance — to deliver services you have purchased (e.g. online gait analysis, rehabilitation programmes). This includes processing your animal's details and vet contact information to provide the service. Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries submitted via our contact form, and to improve our website and services. Consent — for marketing communications, where you have opted in. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months. Service records (gait analysis reports, treatment plans) are retained for 6 years as part of our professional obligations. Payment records are retained for 6 years as required by UK tax law (HMRC). You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to our legal retention obligations.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the right to: access your personal data; rectify inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; restrict processing; data portability; object to processing; withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at elevatevetphysio@gmail.com. We will respond within one month of receiving your request.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first at elevatevetphysio@gmail.com so we can try to resolve the issue. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 28 days. If you remain unsatisfied, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113, or write to Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Third-party services and international transfers

We use the following third-party services that may process your data: Stripe (payment processing — data may be transferred to the United States under Stripe's Binding Corporate Rules and Standard Contractual Clauses); Resend (sending service-related and results emails — data transferred to the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses); n8n (workflow automation that processes form submissions to send you emails); Google Maps (embedded map on our contact page — subject to Google's Privacy Policy); Netlify (website hosting and form submissions — data processed in the United States under the UK-US Data Bridge). Each service maintains its own privacy policy. Where data is transferred outside the UK, appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK GDPR.
